Case Study: Lung
Cancer
History
This patient is a 57 year old male with a growing
RUL nodule. Presents for evaluation of
suspected lung cancer.
PET/CT
Result
There is an intense focal abnormality in the RUL
and milder abnormalities in the right hilum
and mediastinum.
Outcome
Mediastinoscopy confirmed the presence of pretracheal
metastasis seen on PET/CT. PET/CT
allowed the patient to be selectively surgically staged to III and
neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy
was begun.
